## Frequently asked questions

### Do I need a referral for an Ahead scan?

No, you do not need a referral. You can book the appointment independently.

### Does Ahead screening involve ionising radiation?

No. It is based on MRI, which does not use radiation.

### Can I eat or drink on the day of the exam?

In most cases, you should fast for 8–12 hours before the exam.

### When will I get my results?

Your results will typically be available 5–7 business days after the screening.

### Does my health insurance cover the costs?

Supplementary health insurers may cover part of the cost. For example, KPT reimburses up to CHF 1'500.

### Do you work with employer programmes?

Some employers offer health programs that may cover the screening. Check with your employer.
