## Frequently asked questions

### Can I get my results as a PDF or in another language for my doctor?

Yes, you can share your Ahead results with your GP whenever you choose. Each result in your report comes with your measured value, the reference range where one applies and a plain-language explanation, backed by a physician's summary, and you can export the original lab results exactly as they were issued. Whether and how your GP uses them is up to you both.

You can export your results directly from your Ahead portal, no request needed:

- **To share with your doctor:** the original reports from our partner centres (lab results and radiology reports), exactly as they were issued.
- **To share with family or friends:** your complete Ahead report with all results, analysis and recommendations.

On languages:

- Your interactive Ahead report is written and reviewed by our doctors in the language you chose when booking. Switching the language inside the report changes the layout only, not the content.
- The original lab results PDF is issued in the language of the region where you had your check-up. We can ask the lab for a translation, but this is usually not possible.
- The original radiology report is issued in the language of the region where your scan took place and cannot be changed afterwards. Some partner centres can provide a translation for a fee; we will tell you the cost before anything is ordered.

If you need a document in a language other than the one issued, contact us at get@aheadhealth.com and we will check what is possible.

### Can I bring my recent blood test results from another provider?

Yes, if you're either an MRI customer or a member, it is possible to include recent blood test results you've obtained from another provider (e.g., your GP or CARE). Please note that these results can only be submitted once you've scheduled your appointment.

It's generally advised that blood tests be recent (ideally not older than 3 months) to provide the most accurate current health information.

### How reliable are the results and what is the follow-up process?

Our health check-up results are based on established medical protocols, with professional and experienced MRI and laboratory partners, such as Hirslanden and Unilabs.

Medical experts carefully review all findings.

These check-ups serve as screening tools; if any concerns are identified, further follow-up may be necessary.

Our medical experts will help interpret your results, suggest appropriate next steps, and can provide referrals if needed.

Your results are delivered in a web-based interactive report, which is pre-drafted with the assistance of AI and validated by physicians.

We grade findings suspicious for cancer using ONCO-RADS (1–5). Other incidental findings (e.g. aneurysm, disc herniation, cysts, fatty liver) are assessed by the radiologists according to the relevant specialist guidelines. ONCO-RADS, or the Oncologically Relevant Findings Reporting and Data System, is a standardized classification system used in whole-body MRI for cancer screening. It categorizes findings based on the likelihood of malignancy, ranging from normal to highly likely malignant. Typically, RADS 3 findings (likely benign) may warrant an imaging follow-up in 6-12 months, while RADS 4-5 findings (suspicious or likely malignant) will lead to a referral to partner specialists.

After you receive your Ahead report, you can schedule a follow-up consultation (usually a video call) with one of our medical experts to discuss the findings in detail. This consultation is included in the package price and does not involve an additional fee.

### What does the report include and in which language is it provided?

Whatever you booked, your results come as an interactive digital report. Every finding is shown with your measured value, the reference range where one applies, and a plain-language explanation of what it means for you, followed by a physician's summary and a prioritised action plan. The report is pre-drafted with the assistance of AI and then reviewed and validated by our medical experts before you see it.

What it covers depends on your check-up:

- **Advanced blood test**: over 80 biomarkers, each with its reference range, and trends over time once you test again.
- **Full-body MRI**: imaging findings from head to thighs, presented with annotated images.
- **Full-body check-up**: both of the above in a single combined report, covering up to 22 health areas.

You can see how that looks before you book: our [report page](https://www.aheadhealth.com/ch/en/report.md) walks through a full interactive example.

It's provided in the language you chose when booking. The report is written once in that language, so switching languages in the portal changes the interface around it but does not translate the report and the findings themselves.

Alongside the report you get a personal dashboard that keeps your results over time, so repeat tests build into trend graphs instead of sitting as separate PDFs.

### How do I get my raw DICOM (imaging) files?

DICOM is simply the standard file format for medical scans — a bit like a “PDF” for medical images. Your MRI scans are stored as DICOM files, so any doctor or medical imaging viewer can open them. You can request your raw DICOM files at any time, and we'll send you a secure download link — usually within 24 hours of your request, at no extra cost.

### Do you offer specialist referrals if something is found?

Yes. If the radiologist sees something that needs a closer look, your report explains what it is and what the recommended next step is. Findings that could be cancer are graded on ONCO-RADS, an international scale from 1 to 5 for how likely a finding is to be cancer.

You can go through your results with a doctor from our team, usually by video call. This consultation is included with every MRI check-up. Not every finding is a concern: some need no action, some only a check later on, and some need a further scan, sometimes with a contrast agent, to find out what they are.

If you need a follow-up scan or a specialist appointment, our team can help you book it directly within our partner network. You can also take your report to your own GP.
