What are the first signs of prostate cancer?

In most cases, there are none. Early-stage prostate cancer rarely produces clinical signs, which is exactly why screening matters. When urinary symptoms do occur (weak stream, frequent urination, difficulty starting or stopping), they are far more likely to indicate benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) than cancer. Prostate cancer is typically found through screening instead of symptoms.
