Tumour producing mucus in the pancreas (mucinous cystadenoma)
A mucus-producing cystic tumor of the pancreas that can progress to invasive cancer. MRI characterizes the wall, septa, and nodules to gauge malignant potential and guide monitoring. MRI can raise suspicion of this finding, but a definitive diagnosis requires further specialist assessment — typically examining a tissue sample (taken by biopsy or during surgical removal), and sometimes additional imaging or blood tests.
