Endocrine healthDetected by MRI
Tumour producing excess adrenaline (pheochromocytoma)
A rare adrenal gland tumor that overproduces catecholamines, causing dangerous spikes in blood pressure. MRI detects the mass as a T2-bright adrenal lesion, prompting confirmatory testing. MRI can raise suspicion of this finding, but a definitive diagnosis requires further specialist assessment — typically examining a tissue sample (taken by biopsy or during surgical removal), and sometimes additional imaging or blood tests.
