What we can find
I have a chronic condition: can the Prevention Starter blood test help with monitoring?
The Prevention Starter blood test is primarily intended for preventive health checks in people without acute symptoms. However, it can provide useful insights into the course of certain chronic conditions.
Areas where the Prevention Starter blood test adds value:
- Cardiovascular risk factors: ApoB, LDL, HDL, triglycerides and hs-CRP
- Diabetes / prediabetes: HbA1c, fasting blood glucose and the TyG index
- Thyroid conditions: TSH, with fT3 and fT4 added automatically if TSH is low
- Liver and kidney function: including ALT, AST, GGT, creatinine and eGFR
Important: The Prevention Starter blood test is not a substitute for specialist care. Please tell us about any chronic conditions and medications when you book, as they can affect the interpretation.
