What we can find
Can you detect thyroid problems?
In part. The Advanced blood test measures TSH, the key first check of thyroid function. An abnormal TSH can point to an under- or overactive thyroid, including early changes before symptoms appear.
Free T3, free T4 and thyroid antibodies (anti-TPO, anti-thyroglobulin) are not part of the panel. If your TSH comes back abnormal, your GP (huisarts) can order them as a follow-up, for example to diagnose Hashimoto's thyroiditis or Graves' disease.
