Our scans & tests
Can a full-body MRI show calcium in my heart arteries?
No, an MRI can't do that. It's great at showing your organs and soft tissues, but not calcium in your coronary arteries. That's a job for the calcium score: a quick, low-dose CT scan of your heart.
The two tests answer different questions, so they work well together. Depending on the location, you can add the calcium score to your MRI appointment.
