Ahead gift card terms

1. Scope

1.1 These Gift Card Terms govern the purchase of a gift card from Ahead Health AG, Uraniastrasse 31, 8001 Zürich, Switzerland ("Ahead", "we"). By buying a gift card, the Buyer accepts these Gift Card Terms. Our Privacy Policy applies to the Buyer's data.

1.2 Redeeming the gift card and the Services themselves are governed by our General Terms and Conditions ("GTC"), which the Holder accepts when they create an account. The Buyer acquires no rights under the GTC, and nothing in the GTC binds the Buyer. Where these Gift Card Terms and the GTC conflict, these Gift Card Terms prevail for the gift card.

1.3 "Buyer" means the person who buys the gift card. The Buyer must be at least 18 years old. "Holder" means whoever has the gift card at the time.

2. What a gift card is

A gift card is credit with Ahead in Swiss francs, sold at fixed amounts and at face value only. It is not a booking and does not oblige anyone to have a check-up.

The price is the face value, shown in CHF and inclusive of any VAT, and is payable in full at purchase by the payment methods offered at checkout. The contract is concluded when we confirm the purchase by email. We deliver the gift card by email as a code, either to the Holder or to the Buyer to pass on.

3. Redeeming the gift card

3.1 The Holder alone decides whether, when and for which Service to redeem the gift card. They may also leave it unused or pass it on (section 4). To redeem it, the Holder creates their own account, gives their own consents and books themselves. The Buyer cannot book or consent on the Holder's behalf.

3.2 The gift card can be redeemed for any Service we offer in Switzerland at the time of redemption, including the Membership, blood tests and full-body MRIs. Imaging with ionising radiation (such as CT and X-ray), examinations with contrast agents and medicines are excluded.

3.3 If the gift card is redeemed for a Membership, the credit is applied to the first Membership year. The Membership then renews automatically. For this, we collect the Holder's payment details when the gift card is redeemed. Renewals are charged to those payment details, not to any balance left on the gift card, which stays available under section 3.4.

3.4 If the chosen Service costs more than the credit, the Holder pays the difference at checkout. If it costs less, the remaining balance stays available until the gift card expires (section 6). The credit cannot be paid out in cash, reloaded or redeemed anywhere other than with Ahead.

3.5 The gift card does not change any part of the check-up process other than the means of payment. Whether a check-up can be performed for medical or safety reasons is decided by the medical partner performing it. There is no entitlement to a particular check-up.

3.6 The invoice for a redeemed Service is issued to the Holder, shows the full price, and records the gift card as the payment method.

4. Transfer

The Holder may pass the gift card on to anyone at any time while it is not fully redeemed; the assignment restriction in the GTC does not apply to this. Gift cards may not be offered for sale, in particular on third-party platforms, and we may refuse to redeem codes offered for sale. We may treat anyone presenting a code as entitled to redeem it, provided they are eligible under the GTC.

5. Withdrawal and refunds

5.1 The Buyer may withdraw from the purchase within 30 days of our purchase confirmation, without giving reasons, by email to get@aheadhealth.com, as long as the gift card has not been redeemed. We refund the price to the original payment method and block the gift card.

5.2 If the chosen check-up cannot be performed for medical or safety reasons (section 3.5), or if we discontinue a Service, the Holder may use the credit for another Service or pass the gift card on. We do not tell the Buyer why.

5.3 If we cease to offer Services in Switzerland altogether, or can no longer provide them for regulatory reasons, we refund the unredeemed credit to the Buyer.

5.4 Otherwise no refunds are given, including for the remaining balance of a partly redeemed gift card.

6. Validity

The gift card is valid for three years from the purchase date. The expiry date is shown on the gift card and in the purchase confirmation.

7. No discounts or promotions

We sell gift cards at face value only. We offer no discounts, bonus credit, time-limited offers, volume discounts or competitions on gift cards, and do not use gift cards as prizes or giveaways.

8. Loss and misuse

Keep the code safe. If an unredeemed code is reported lost, we may block and replace it on proof of purchase. We are not liable for redemption by someone who presented the code before it was reported. We may block gift cards in case of suspected fraud or a payment chargeback.

9. Information for the Buyer

We use the Buyer's details and the Holder's name and email address only to deliver the gift card, process payment and provide customer service. We do not tell the Buyer whether, when or for what the gift card was redeemed and share no health data of the Holder. The Buyer receives only the purchase and delivery confirmations.

10. Changes

We may change these Gift Card Terms. For gift cards already bought, the terms at the time of purchase apply where a change would put the Buyer or Holder in a worse position.

11. Liability

Our liability towards the Buyer under these Gift Card Terms is limited to wilful intent and gross negligence; liability for slight negligence and for indirect or consequential loss is excluded to the extent permitted by law. Check-ups and other Services are not provided under these Gift Card Terms; liability for them is governed by the GTC and the applicable law.

12. Governing law and jurisdiction

Swiss law applies. Place of jurisdiction is Zürich, subject to mandatory places of jurisdiction, in particular for consumers.
