Malignant tumor of the bile ducts (biliary cancer)
Cancer arising from the bile ducts (cholangiocarcinoma), often diagnosed late due to subtle symptoms. MRI may raise suspicion of a bile-duct mass or blockage, but a definitive diagnosis requires further specialist assessment — typically examining a tissue sample (taken by biopsy or during surgical removal), and sometimes additional imaging such as a dedicated bile-duct sequence (MRCP).
