Brain and nerve healthDetected by MRI
Brain metastases
Cancer that has spread to the brain from another part of the body. MRI with contrast is the gold standard for detecting these lesions and guiding treatment. MRI can raise suspicion of this finding, but a definitive diagnosis requires further specialist assessment — typically examining a tissue sample (taken by biopsy or during surgical removal), and sometimes additional imaging or blood tests.
