Cerebellar atrophy

Shrinkage of the cerebellum, the brain region that coordinates balance and movement, which can be age-related or point to a degenerative or hereditary disorder. Brain MRI shows the reduced cerebellar volume and widened surface grooves, distinguishing it from the shrinkage seen elsewhere in the brain.
