Stomach and gut healthDetected by MRI
Malignant tumor of the pancreas (ductal adenocarcinoma)
The most common type of pancreatic cancer, arising from the cells lining the pancreatic ducts. MRI can detect tumors and duct changes early, when this often late-diagnosed cancer is more treatable. MRI can raise suspicion of this finding, but a definitive diagnosis requires further specialist assessment — typically examining a tissue sample (taken by biopsy or during surgical removal), and sometimes additional imaging or blood tests.
