Endometrioma > 3 cm

A cyst on the ovary filled with old, thickened blood, called a chocolate cyst for its appearance, caused by endometriosis. Larger ones of three centimeters or more can impair the function of the ovary and fallopian tube; the MRI shows the characteristic blood products and maps the extent of disease.
