Bone and muscle healthDetected by MRI

Knee metastases

Cancer that has spread to the bone or soft tissue around the knee. Early detection is important for cancer staging and preventing pathological fractures. MRI can raise suspicion of this finding, but a definitive diagnosis requires further specialist assessment — typically examining a tissue sample (taken by biopsy or during surgical removal), and sometimes additional imaging or blood tests.
