Lymphoma of the oral pharynx

Lymphatic cancer in the middle throat area. MRI helps stage the disease and plan treatment with chemotherapy and/or radiation. MRI can raise suspicion of this finding, but a definitive diagnosis requires further specialist assessment — typically examining a tissue sample (taken by biopsy or during surgical removal), and sometimes additional imaging or blood tests.
