Immune system healthDetected by MRI
Metastases in the neck lymph nodes
Cancer that has spread to the lymph nodes in the neck from another site. MRI detects involved nodes, which is critical for cancer staging and guiding treatment. MRI can raise suspicion of this finding, but a definitive diagnosis requires further specialist assessment — typically examining a tissue sample (taken by biopsy or during surgical removal), and sometimes additional imaging or blood tests.
