Lung and airwaysDetected by MRI
Metastases of the oral pharynx
Cancer that has spread to the middle throat area from another site. MRI shows the tumor extent and nearby lymph node involvement to guide staging and treatment. MRI can raise suspicion of this finding, but a definitive diagnosis requires further specialist assessment — typically examining a tissue sample (taken by biopsy or during surgical removal), and sometimes additional imaging or blood tests.
