Stomach and gut healthDetected by MRI
Malignant tumour producing mucus in the pancreas or ovary (mucinous cystadenocarcinoma)
A malignant mucus-producing cystic tumor, usually of the pancreas or ovary. Early detection through MRI improves surgical outcomes and long-term survival. MRI can raise suspicion of this finding, but a definitive diagnosis requires further specialist assessment — typically examining a tissue sample (taken by biopsy or during surgical removal), and sometimes additional imaging or blood tests.
