Bone and muscle healthDetected by MRI
Pelvis and hips metastases
Cancer that has spread to the bones of the pelvis and hips. MRI detects marrow involvement early, which informs cancer staging and helps prevent pathological fractures. MRI can raise suspicion of this finding, but a definitive diagnosis requires further specialist assessment — typically examining a tissue sample (taken by biopsy or during surgical removal), and sometimes additional imaging or blood tests.
