Brain and nerve healthDetected by MRI

Pituitary mass

A growth on the pituitary gland, which governs many of the body's hormones. MRI detection prompts hormonal evaluation and monitoring before the mass affects vision or hormone levels. MRI can raise suspicion of this finding, but a definitive diagnosis requires further specialist assessment — typically examining a tissue sample (taken by biopsy or during surgical removal), and sometimes additional imaging or blood tests.
