Bladder and kidney healthDetected by MRI
Malignant tumour in the kidney (renal cell carcinoma)
The most common form of kidney cancer in adults. MRI detection at an early stage dramatically improves survival, as localized tumors can often be surgically cured. MRI can raise suspicion of this finding, but a definitive diagnosis requires further specialist assessment — typically examining a tissue sample (taken by biopsy or during surgical removal), and sometimes additional imaging or blood tests.
