Bone and muscle healthDetected by MRI
Shoulder metastases
Cancer that has spread to the bones or soft tissues of the shoulder. MRI detects these deposits early, aiding cancer staging and helping prevent fractures. MRI can raise suspicion of this finding, but a definitive diagnosis requires further specialist assessment — typically examining a tissue sample (taken by biopsy or during surgical removal), and sometimes additional imaging or blood tests.
