Prostate cancer < 3 cm

The most common cancer in men; small, locally confined tumors often grow very slowly and are sometimes only monitored rather than treated right away. MRI with PI-RADS scoring (a points system for estimating cancer risk) is the standard for detecting and characterizing suspicious prostate areas before a tissue sample is taken. MRI can raise suspicion of this finding, but a definitive diagnosis requires further specialist assessment — typically examining a tissue sample (taken by biopsy or during surgical removal), and sometimes additional imaging or blood tests.
