Does basic insurance cover preventive screenings?

No, mandatory basic insurance (KVG) does not cover preventive screenings like MRI or comprehensive blood tests. Supplementary insurance (VVG) is needed, and many supplementary plans cover part of the cost (some plans most of it, up to a yearly cap).
