Q: Do you offer a couples discount, and how does it work?

Yes. If you and your partner each book and complete an MRI-based check-up within the same month , you both receive CHF 250 off (CHF 500 total). You and your partner book separately and can each choose any MRI-based package. In the final step of the booking, please mention the name of your partner in the notes field, so we can link the two appointments. We accept Credit Card, Twint, and offer payment in installments via Klarna.

Which supplementary insurers cover Ahead Health?

Accepted Answer

Many Swiss supplementary insurers cover part or all of the blood test cost. For MRI, reimbursement is usually more limited. KPT is the most forward-thinking, covering up to CHF 1,500 per year (Pulse Premium). Other insurers where customers have reported partial coverage include Sanitas, CSS, and Sympany.

Does basic insurance cover preventive screenings?

No, mandatory basic insurance (KVG) typically does not cover preventive screenings like MRI or comprehensive blood tests. Supplementary insurance (VVG) is needed for coverage.

Will I receive an invoice and how do I submit it to my insurer?

Yes. After your check-up, you'll receive a detailed invoice clearly outlining the provided services and the clinic that provided them. This invoice is formatted for insurance submission.

To submit it, use your insurer's online portal or app. Reimbursement typically takes 2–4 weeks. If your insurer requires different documentation, please let us know and we'll help.

How does the payment process work?

An invoice for your check-up will be sent to you after your scan has been completed.

Payment can be made via Credit Card or Twint. We also offer the option to pay in installments through Klarna.

Please remember our 48-hour cancellation policy; a no-show fee of 150 CHF may be applied if an appointment is missed or cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice.

Is my data safe?

What if my insurer isn't listed?

Accepted Answer

No problem — select 'Other' in the Insurance form and we'll manually research your coverage. You'll hear back within 24 hours.

Is the check-up covered by Swiss health insurance?

Accepted Answer

Ahead collaborates with KPT, which reimburses up to CHF 1,500 of the scan under the KPT Pulse Top or Premium supplementary insurance plans.

Mandatory basic health insurance (KVG/LaMal) does not cover Ahead's preventive scans. However, many supplementary insurance plans cover part of the costs.

Check your coverage here — enter your insurer and plan to see typical reimbursement.

Next to KPT, partial coverage has been reported with Sanitas, CSS, and Sympany. Some insurers like Helsana, SWICA, and Groupe Mutuel may not cover the check-up under their supplementary plans.

Please also check whether your insurer covers blood tests separately from the MRI, as some may reimburse part of the blood test costs.

While full coverage for preventive MRIs by basic insurance is not yet standard, we note a growing recognition of the value of comprehensive early detection, with some Swiss supplementary insurers beginning to offer partial reimbursement.
