Endocrine healthDetected by MRI
Adrenal cortical carcinoma
A rare but aggressive cancer of the adrenal cortex. Early detection through MRI significantly improves the chance of curative surgical removal. MRI can raise suspicion of this finding, but a definitive diagnosis requires further specialist assessment — typically examining a tissue sample (taken by biopsy or during surgical removal), and sometimes additional imaging or blood tests.
