We are Ahead Health
Healthcare today is reactive, fragmented, and increasingly expensive. Despite having more health data than ever, we lack effective systems to prevent disease and optimize wellbeing.
That's why we started Ahead Health. We're transforming how people understand and manage their health by shifting from reactive treatment to proactive prevention. We combine full-body MRI scans, advanced blood testing covering 150+ biomarkers, and AI-powered analysis to detect early signs of health risks.
By integrating Swiss medical expertise with cutting-edge technology, we help people take control of their health journey. We are an approved telemedicine outpatient facility (with appropriate insurance cover) working with trusted Swiss clinicians to ensure quality, safety, and precision at the highest clinical standards.
We're backed by founders and executives from Hugging Face, Cradle, Google, DeepMind, Oviva, Stanford Medicine, GE, Philips, and Coda, and we're building Europe's leading preventive health platform, starting in Switzerland.
YOUR ROLE
Build from the ground up
The role
We're turning full-body MRI scans and advanced blood panels into actionable health insights. Behind every member's health report is a complex data workflow: reports from partner clinics, lab results in various formats, GP reviews, and eventually AI-powered analysis.
Right now, too much of this is manual. You'll change that.
You'll process the data that flows through our system today — ensuring accuracy, speed, and clinical quality. And you'll build the tools and pipelines that make tomorrow's workflow 10x more scalable. You're part clinical operations specialist, part data engineer, part automation-obsessed builder.
This is the rare role where you're expected to be heads-down processing reports on Monday and shipping a Python pipeline on Wednesday. If that sounds like whiplash instead of excitement, this isn't your role.
We're a technical, product-obsessed team. Sven (CPO) has a PhD in medical imaging from Oxford. Our engineers are senior folks from Google and Twitter. We ship fast, expect high quality, and have zero tolerance for theater.
Your responsibilities
Process clinical data daily. Ingest reports from partner clinics and labs. Prepare draft health reports for GP review. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
Analyze patient data continuously. Track key health metrics across our cohort. Surface patterns in what we detect: demographic correlations, biomarker distributions. Generate weekly/monthly clinical intelligence reports for the medical team and leadership. Identify anomalies or trends that should inform product decisions.
Build automation relentlessly. Identify manual work; ship tools to eliminate it. Use Python, SQL, AI tools, and whatever else works. Default to action.
Design and maintain data pipelines. Connect EHRs, lab systems, and clinic databases using HL7, FHIR, and other standards. Make data flow reliably and insightful.
Support ML initiatives. Prepare harmonized, validated datasets for the product engineering team. Understand what makes data "ML-ready."
Bridge clinical and technical teams. Translate between GPs (clinical needs), engineers (technical constraints), and ops (business requirements). Make decisions fast when you can; escalate clearly when you can't.
Optimize clinical workflows. Spot bottlenecks; propose solutions. Work with Sven and medical team to implement changes that actually stick.
Own the SLA. Reports reach GPs within 5 business days, consistently. You're accountable for hitting this.
Need to have
3+ years in a technical role within healthcare — clinical informatics, health IT, healthcare data engineering, or similar
EHR and interoperability standards fluency — proven experience with HL7, FHIR, and healthcare data exchange
Can code — Python, SQL, or similar. You ship automation, not just ideas. Use AI tools (Cursor, Claude, etc.) to move faster.
Data analysis and visualization — You can wrangle messy healthcare data, identify meaningful patterns, and communicate findings clearly. Experience with pandas, numpy, visualization libraries (matplotlib, seaborn, plotly).
Clinical workflow literacy — understand how doctors, labs, and clinics actually work. Know what HIPAA/GDPR compliance means in practice.
AI-native — demonstrated proof you've built or deployed AI-powered tools or workflows. Not a tourist; you use AI daily for your own work.
Execution velocity — you ship weekly improvements, not quarterly roadmaps. Comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities.
Ownership mindset — if the report is wrong or late, you lose sleep. Take pride in quality; care about the mission.
Nice to have
Master's degree in clinical informatics, health IT, or related technical field
Startup or fast-scaling healthcare company experience
Advanced data analytics skills, including SQL mastery and BI tool fluency (Metabase, Looker, etc.)
Experience with ML/AI in healthcare (image analysis, model training, dataset preparation, validation)
Population health or epidemiology background - understanding of prevalence, incidence, risk factors, cohort analysis
Clinical Informatics certification (CPHIMS or similar)
German language skills
Benefits
CHF 90–110K + meaningful equity in a fast-growing health-tech startup
Shape how Europe approaches preventive healthcare
Small, technical, mission-driven team with real ownership
