EGK EGK-SUN

EGK-SUN is EGK’s all-in-one supplementary insurance, built around complementary medicine: it places recognised complementary therapies on the same footing as conventional treatment and opens up a register of thousands of therapists and naturopaths, alongside free choice of doctor and extras around pregnancy and birth. It comes in several variants, with hospital cover chosen separately.

Frequently asked questions

Many Swiss supplementary insurers cover part or all of the blood panel: KPT, AXA, CSS, Visana, Atupri, SWICA, Groupe Mutuel and EGK. For MRI, coverage is generally more limited. KPT goes furthest, with up to CHF 1'500 per calendar year. AXA, CSS, Visana and Atupri also cover preventive MRI, while SWICA and Groupe Mutuel cover it only partly. Coverage depends on your specific plan. Use our coverage checker to check your individual coverage instantly. You can also request a pro-forma invoice there to pass on to your insurer if needed.

Ahead is collaborating with KPT, which reimburses up to CHF 1'500 of the scan under the KPT Pulse Top or Premium supplementary insurance plans.

Generally, mandatory basic health insurance (KVG/LaMal) in Switzerland does not cover the cost of Ahead's full-body preventive scans.

However, some supplementary health insurances ("Zusatzversicherungen" / "assurances complémentaires") may cover a portion of the costs. The extent of coverage is specific to your insurance provider and your particular plan.

We highly recommend contacting your insurance company before your scan to clarify potential reimbursement.

Also, this is highly dependent on the specific supplementary plan. Some insurers, like Helsana, SWICA, Groupe Mutuel may not cover the check-up under their supplementary plans.

Please check with your insurance if the blood tests are covered separately to the MRI, some may cover partial costs of the blood test.
