Stomach and gut healthDetected by MRI
Malignant liver tumor (hepatocellular carcinoma)
The most common primary liver cancer, often developing in patients with chronic liver disease or cirrhosis. Early MRI detection widens treatment options and improves survival. MRI can raise suspicion of this finding, but a definitive diagnosis requires further specialist assessment — typically examining a tissue sample (taken by biopsy or during surgical removal), and sometimes additional imaging or blood tests.
